
Men's Track Competes in First Event of 2025
The Culver-Stockton College men's track and field team eased back into action after the holidays in the Battle in the Hive at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats set one school record and four personal records during the meet that saw just a limited number of student-athletes competing for the blue and white.
Logan Lucas set a school record in the 1,000-meter run, completing five-lap race in a time of 2:46.59. The previous record was 2:47.43 set earlier this season by freshman Jailan Reynaga. Lucas finished 10th overall in the event.
Jabez Rivers set a personal mark and the second-highest total in school history in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:28.75. Rivers finished sixth overall. Rivers also competed in the 60-meter hurdles and placed second overall with a time of 8.66 seconds.
Drew Mallett recorded three top-10 finishes in the event, setting one personal best and tying another in the process.
Mallett registered his best mark in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 9 inches, which was good for seventh place overall. Mallett also tied his personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 11 3/4 inches, while he also had his Brest finish of the day in the high jump, recording a mark of 5 feet, 10 inches to place 6th overall.
Gannon McNamee set a personal best in the mile run with a 20th place finish in a time of 4:59.58. Kenny Tucker placed eighth overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.22.
The men's team will be back in Davenport next Saturday, Jan. 18, for the Bumble Rumble hosted by Saint Ambrose. The first events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
