
Wildcat Trackmen Place Fourth at Hilltop Invitational
The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team registered five top three finishes, including one victory, in placing fourth among seven teams in the Hilltop Invitational at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats recorded 91 team points, placing a distant fourth behind Grinnell College's 137 points.
The only event title came in the 4x200 really where the Wildcats set a school record with a time of 1:32.99. The relay team consisted of Ayden Hodges, Judah Rivers, Jabez Rivers and Drew Mallett.
In other events, Jabez Rivers placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds. Mallet was fourth in that event with a time of 8.94 seconds.
Judah Rivers placed second in the 400-meter run with a season-best 52.44 seconds. Logan Lucas placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:06.98.
Mallett earned a second place finish in the triple jump, leading the Wildcats to a second, fourth and fifth place finishes. Mallett hit a mark of 39 feet, 3 inches while Kevin Bryant was fourth with a leap of 33 feet, 7 1/2 inches, and Michael Eisner was fifth with a jump of 33 feet, 5 1/4 inches.
A few members of the team will compete in the Dutch Winter Multi Meet at Central College in Pella, Iowa, Jan. 30-31, and the full team will compete in the Grinnell Invitational next Saturday, Feb. 1, in Grinnell, Iowa.
