
Wildcats Place Sixth at Grinnell Invitational
The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team registered 43.5 points to finish sixth overall at the Grinnell Invitational at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, Saturday afternoon. Grinnell won the event with 135.5 points.
Leading the way was senior Logan Lucas who broke his own school record in the 5,000-meter run and finished first overall with a time of 15:18.94. Lucas' previous best was 15:28.51 at the 2024 Heart Indoor Championships.
Jabez Rivers and Judah Rivers each finished second in their respective events during the meet. Jabez placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.94 seconds. Judah set his personal best in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.12 seconds.
The 4x400 relay team also placed second in the meet with a time of 3:31.48.
In the field events, Michael Misner placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the high jump and triple jump. In the high jump, Misner cleared 5 feet, 1 3/4 inches, while in he triple jump his mark was 36 feet, 4 inches. Drew Mallett placed fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, 5 3/4 inches.
The Wildcats will tune up for the conference championships by competing in the Luther invitational at Luther College in Delcorah, Iowa, next Saturday, Feb. 8. The meet is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
