Men's Volleyball Begins Season with Three Matches in Kentucky

The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team made its season debut under the direction of new Head Coach Jeffrey Lipton with three matches in Kentucky Friday and Saturday.

The Wildcats concluded the trip Saturday with a five-set loss to Kentucky State University in Frankfort. The Wildcats won two of the first three sets before eventually falling 18-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 15-7.

Malachi Gnade led two players in double-digits in kills with 17 while Jacob Todd added 10 terminations. Owen Randle contributed eight kills and a team-best 25 set assists and 10 digs.

On Friday, C-SC was swept in both of its matches, falling to Georgetown College 25-10, 25-14, 25-15; and to Midway University 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.

Gnade totaled 17 kills in the two matches while Todd registered 12 kills in the two matches to lead the Wildcats. Matt Reese set the table in both of those matches with 13 and 11 set assists, respectively.

The Wildcats (0-3) begins Heart of America Athletic Conference play Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
