Men's Volleyball Captures First Victory with Sweep over UHSP

The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team earned its first victory of the season with a sweep over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) Tuesday night at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats registered 28 total kills, six service aces and 24 digs in giving Head Coach Jeffrey Lipton his first victory as the Wildcat mentor. C-SC hit at a .187 clip in the match in posting a 25-18, 25-16, 25-20 victory.

Individually, Owen Randle garnered a team-high 10 kills to lead the hosts at the net. Randle had four attack errors on 31 attempts for a .316 attack percentage.

Jacob Todd also had a solid night at the net with six kills and one error on 16 attacks for a .312 attack percentage. Malachi Gnade totaled five kills and a .250 hitting percentage. Matt Reese tallied 20 set assists.

Defensively, Aidan McGuire paced the back row with a match-high 14 digs. Isaiah Robertson was the leader up front with five block assists. Randle chipped in with one solo block and three block assists.

The Wildcats, now 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, is slated to play at Mount Mercy University this Friday, Feb. 17, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
