Men's Volleyball Falls to Graceland in Four Sets
The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team lost to Graceland University in four sets Tuesday night at Charles Field.
After dropping a 25-19 decision in the opening set, the Wildcats answered with a strong second set victory 26-16. In winning the set, the Wildcat had a .474 hitting percentage with just one error on 19 attempts.
However, C-SC could't maintain the momentum and committed 13 attack errors in the final two sets, falling 25-16, 25-19.
Malachi Gnade led the offensive attack with 13 kills on 33 attempts. Jacob Todd added nine kills, and Owen Randle had four kills and a team-best 16 set assists.
Defensively, Aidan McGuire was a rock on the back line with 19 digs. No other Wildcat had more than five digs in the match. Isaiah Robinson and Charlie Schmidt each recorded two block assists.
C-SC returns to action this Saturday, March 4, with a triangular at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. The Wildcats face Central Christian (Kan.) at 3 p.m. and Morningside at 5 p.m.
