Men's Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Morningside Triangular

The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team picked up a split in two matches in a triangular meet at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa, Saturday afternoon.

In their first match of the day, the Wildcats earned a 25-17, 25-18, 25-13 victory over Central Christian College (Kan.). However, C-SC couldn't double up as the Wildcats fell to Morningside 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.

The Wildcats turned in one of their best hitting games of the year in the victory over the Tigers. C-SC recorded a .443 attack percentage in the match, garnering 45 kills while committing just 10 errors on 79 attack attempts.

Three Wildcat players reached double digits in kills with Aidan McGuire registering a double-double with 11 kills and a match-high 14 digs. Malachi Gnade led the Wildcats with 13 kills, while Jacob Todd tallied 12 terminations.

Owen Randle was the primary setter for the Wildcats and posted 40 set assists to lead the way. Randle also totaled a match-high four service aces.

Against the Mustangs, C-SC couldn't duplicate the hitting success, posting 24 kills but committing 23 errors on 86 attempts for a .012 attack percentage.

Todd and Gnade each recorded seven kills each to lead the offensive attack. Randle and Trevor Hagman contributed three service aces in the match, while Randle finished with 21 set assists.

The Wildcats (3-15) return to conference play this Wednesday, March 8, against Missouri Baptist University. The Heart of America Athletic Conference match is slated to begin at 6 p.m. inside Charles Field House.
