Grand View Firepower Spoils Wildcats' Home Debut

The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team began its home ledger with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-8 loss to ninth-ranked Grand View University Friday night at Charles Field House.

The visiting Vikings overpowered the Wildcats at the net, holding a 34-14 edge in kills despite registering just one more attack attempt (65-64) than the hosts. The Vikings held a 27-16 advantage in digs.

Aaron Jurenka totaled six of the Wildcats' 14 termination to lead the way. Malachi Gnade had four kills and Zach Kowalewicz three kills. Owen Randle and Matt Reese garnered a combined 13 assists,

The Wildcats, now 2-9 overall and 0-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, is scheduled to host fifth-ranked William Penn University at Charles Field House. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
