Wildcats Can't Capitalize on Fast Start, Fall to Graceland in Four Sets

The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team suffered its ninth straight loss with a 21-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 loss to Graceland University Saturday afternoon at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats opened the match with a nice victory in the first set, compiling a .417 attack percentage as Zach Kowalewicz and Malachi Gnade combined for 10 of the Wildcats' 14 kills in the set.

The difference in the set was two fewer service errors and two more service aces for the Wildcats in the set as both teams recorded 14 kills.

C-SC seemed to tire in the third and fourth sets and was unable to find its legs for the attack at the net. The Yellowjackets registered 12 more kills (28-16) over the final two sets and had a 54-48 edge in attacks in those two sets.

Overall, the Wildcats finished with 38 terminations in the match while Graceland totaled 54 kills. The Yellowjackets produced an attack percentage of .279 while C-SC fell off from the .417 in the first set to an overall percentage of .163.
