Wildcats Lose to UHSP in Four Sets

The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team completed its first trip around the Heart of America Athletic Conference with a 25-15, 25-17, 19-25, 25-12 loss to Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) Tuesday night at Charles Field House.

The Eutectics jumped on the Wildcats early in the first two sets and never took the foot off the gas pedal, holding kill advantage of 27-17 over the first two sets. The Wildcats had their best set of the match in the third set when they hit a .286 clip. However, any comeback attempt was quickly halted as UHSP had 15 kills on 26 attempts in the final set.

Zach Kowalewicz was one of two Wildcats in double figures in kills with 13 terminations. Malachi Gnade was the other player to reach double-digits, finishing with 10 kills. Owen Randle totaled a team-best 33 set assists.

The Wildcats are back in action this Friday, March 15, when they host a tri-match with Saint Ambrose (Iowa) University and Central Christian (Kan.) College at Charles Field House. The Wildcats play Saint Ambrose at 3:30 p.m. and Central Christian at 7:30 p.m.
