
'Cats Fall to Fontbonne Despite Three Players Reaching Double Figures in Kills
The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team had three players register 10 or more kills but it wasn't enough to defeat Fontbonne University Tuesday night in a nit-conference match at Charles Field House.
The Wildcats claimed the first set 25-23 but the Griffins took the next three sets 25-14, 25-20, 25-22. The loss drops the Wildcats to 3-22 overall.
Malachi Gnade and Zach Kowalewicz recorded 12 kills each with Aaron Jurenka posting 10 terminations. Gnade committed just one attack error on 25 attempts for a .440 attack percentage.
The Wildcats garnered 47 kills in the match and had a .243 attack percentage with 19 errors on 115 attempts. Fontbonne totaled 61 kills in the match and had nine errors on 112 attempts for a .464 attack percentage.
Owen Randle and Matt Reese guided the offense with a combined 42 of the 45 set assists by C-SC. Randle had 24 of those assists.
The Wildcats are slated to host Clarke University in a Heart of America Athletic Conference match this Friday, March 29. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Prior to the match, senior Jacob Todd and Kino Garcia will be recognized.
