Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at Trojan Invitational

The Culver-Stockton College men's cross country team competed in the Trojan Invitational at Hannibal-LaGrange University and finished 4th among the six teams scoring in the event.

The Wildcats registered an overall team time of 2:36:23 to place behind Judson (Ill.), Hannibal-LaGrange and Webster (Mo.). Judson ended the race with a time of 2:24:14 while HLGU finished at 2:29:21 and Webster at 2:32:20. The Wildcats scored 93 points.

Logan Lucas continued to perform well, recording the highest individual finish in program history, with a fourth place finish in the eight-kilometer race. Lucas completed the circuit in a time of 28:11.4, falling 41 seconds behind the top time.

Kile Dowd finished 15th overall with a time of 30:30.7, averaging 6:08 per mile. Gannon McNamee placed 21st overall with a mark of 30:43.1, while Kenny Tucker finished 31st overall with a time of 32:28.4. Chase Lake ended in a time of 34:30.5 to place 35th overall, while Jabez Rivers placed 38th overall with a time of 35:48.7. Blake Thompson completed the Wildcat lineup with a 40th place finish with a time of 37:07.6.

The Wildcats return to action in six days when they compete at the Indian Hills Invitational in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Friday, Oct. 13. The men's race is slated to start at 4 p.m.
