Men's Cross Country Posts Best Team Finish Ever in Heart Championships

The Culver-Stockton College men's cross country team posted its best finish in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Wildcats placed 11th as a team with a total time of 2:28:41, finishing ahead of Peru State and Missouri Valley for the first time. Benedictine captured the team title with a total time of 2:07:04.

Logan Lucas produced the school's second-highest individual finish in the 8-kilometer event, placing 28th overall with a time of 26:40.9.

Gannon McNamee and Kile Dowd finished 74th and 77th, respectively, in the event. McNamee completed the circuit in a time of 29:09.2 while Dowd finished 77th with a time of 29:09.3.

Kenny Tucker placed 100th overall with a time of 30:55.6 while Jabez Rivers was 113th overall with a time of 32:53.2. Chase Lake and Blake Thompson also competed for the Wildcats, placing 115th and 117th overall. Lake finished in a time of 33:32.4, while Thompson ended in a time of 34:02.2.
