Lucas Competes at NAIA National Cross Country Championships

Senior Logan Lucas of the Culver-Stockton men's cross country team produced his personal NAIA national meet record time Friday morning at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, hosted by Columbia (Mo.).  

The 69th annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship featured a total of 326 runners in the 8-kilometer race and was run in cold, blustery conditions.

Lucas clocked a time of 26 minutes, 37.8 seconds to finish 270th for the Wildcats.  He represented the Heart of America Athletic Conference as an individual national qualifier after placing fourth in the conference meet on Nov. 9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In his only other appearance at the national cross country meet in 2022, Lucas finished 293rd with a time of 27:52.6 as a representative of Iowa Wesleyan University. 

The NAIA Cross Country National Championships officially concluded the 2024 season. The indoor track & field season officially opens on Dec. 6 at the Cornell Winter Classic in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
