The Culver-Stockton College softball team erupted for 12 runs and 11 hits in a 12-0 game two victory to earn a split of its opening Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader against William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Wednesday afternoon.

The Wildcats, who lost the first game 1-0, was led offensively by freshman Brylee Throgmorton who collected four hits, including three doubles and a home run, scored three runs and had five runs batted in. Sophia Ashby added two hits, a run scored and two runs batted in.

Junior pitcher Emma Roseberry was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion as she picked up her third victory in seven decisions. Roseberry allowed two hits, walked one and struck out six in her five-inning complete game.

In the opener, C-SC allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth inning and it was enough to put the Statesmen over the top.
