Columbia Scores Late in Game Two, Sweeps Wildcats in Columbia

The Culver-Stockton College softball team returned from spring break with a doubleheader at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., Wednesday afternoon.

The Wildcats outhit the hosts 7-5 in the first game but was unable to push across a run in a 2-0 loss. In the nightcap, C-SC took a 5-4 lead to the bottom of the seventh inning; however, the Wildcats committed two errors and allowed three hits as the Cougars scored twice to walk off with a 6-5 victory.

Cierra Bush led the Wildcat offensive attack in game two with three hits, including a double and a home run, and two runs batted in. Ryley Pecina collected two hits, while Selina Guzman and Haley Gedros recorded the other RBI's.

In the opener, Columbia plated both runs in the second inning against C-SC hurler Aspyn Harrison. Harrison allowed just five hits while striking out three and walking one.

C-SC (6-12) returns home this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders at Himsl Field. The Wildcats begin the weekend with twin bill against Waldorf University on Saturday, March 16. The first game is slated to start at 12 p.m.
