Bio

Rod Radcliffe was hired as the Wildcat Head Softball Coach on July 15, 2021.

Radcliffe served previously as an assistant coach at Rutgers University of the Big Ten from 2018-20 after spending four seasons as an assistant at the University of Toledo of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). During those six seasons, Radcliffe primarily worked with the outfielders and hitters during his tenure.

In one full season of competition with the Scarlet Knights (2020 cancelled due to Covid-19), Rutgers hit a program record 54 home runs. While an assistant at Toledo, Radcliffe was touted for helping increase the Rockets' total doubles, home runs, stolen bases and fielding percentage.

A former head coach at Bethel University in Minnesota, Radcliffe amassed 223 wins while producing two NFCA All-Americans and 25 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorees. The 2013 MIAC Coach of the Year, he held the program record for wins, conference winning percentage, winning streak in a single season and took Bethel to the postseason in five of his final seven seasons, including back-to-back championship game appearances in 2013 and 2014.

"I am very excited to get started with practice and meeting the softball team at Culver-Stockton," said Radcliffe. "I want to thank President Palmer, Athletic Director Pat Atwell, and the search committee for giving me this opportunity to represent and lead Culver-Stockton on the softball field.

Radcliffe feels his time as an assistant the last six years at the Division I level will only enhance his ability to build a competitive program at Culver-Stockton.

"I enjoyed every minute of my time as an assistant, gained a lot of experience and network of coaches, and I am ready to implement the knowledge of the game that I learned to lead this team," stated Radcliffe. "I see a team that is talented and will be fun to work with, and I want to help our athletes strive to succeed on the field and in the classroom."

Radcliffe also was the head softball coach for the United States Team for Competitive Edge International in Thailand and Laos in 2003, 2005 and 2008, and in Myanmar in 2011. Prior to his time at Bethel, Radcliffe had stints as a coach at Ackley-Geneva (Iowa) High School, Hampton-Dumont (Iowa) High School and Ellsworth (Iowa) Community College.
