Ruths Shines at WWU Fall Shootout

Lawren Ruths registered the high point total to claim the women's division at the William Woods University Fall Shootout at the United Sportsmen's Club in Jefferson City, Mo., Oct. 29-30.

Ruths totaled 260 targets overall in the three shooting categories of trap, skeet and super sporting clays. She hit 95 out of 100 in the American Trap, 88 out of 100 in the American Skeet and 77 out of 100 in the Super Sporting Clays. She was the high-point female overall and in the Super Sporting Clays, earning her two trophies.

Will Owen and James Stutheit also participated in the shootout and finished 29th and 34th overall, respectively.

Owen garnered 251 targets in the three categories hitting 91 out of 100 targets in trap, 83 out of 100 in skeet and 77 out of 100 in sporting clays. Stutheit hit 249 out of the 300 targets, connecting on 83 of 100 in trap, 87 out of 100 in skeet and 79 of 100 in sporting clays.

Stutheit and Owen also participated at the National Collegiate Shooting Sports Athletic Association Fall North Central Regional qualifier Nov. 4-6 in Wichita, Kan.

Stutheit hit 257 out of 300 targets in the disciplines of trap, skeet and sporting clays. Stutheit hit 96 out of 100 in trap, 85 out of 100 in skeet and 76 out of 100 in sporting clays.

Owen hit 230 out of 300 targets at the regional qualifier. Owen scored 89 targets in trap, 72 targets in skeet and 69 targets in sporting clays.
