Shooters Return to Action at Roadrunner Freeze Out

The Culver-Stockton shotgun sports team returned to action last weekend at the Roadrunner Freeze Out hosted by State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo.

The Wildcat trio of Lawren Ruths, James Stutheit and William Owen all faired well in their first competition since early November.

Ruths  earned her second victory of the season, beating out 12 other competitors to capture the women's division with 262 targets hit among the three disciplines. Ruths hit the most targets in sporting clays with 88, was second in American Trap with 88 targets, and tied for second with 86 targets in American Skeet.

In the men's competition, James Stutheit finished sixth overall with 261 targets hits among the three categories. Stutheit's best result came in the American Trap where he registered 92 hits, which was fifth best in the competition. He hit 85 targets in the Sporting lays, good for 13th overall, and 84 in American Skeet, which was tied for 23rd.

William Owen tied for 18th overall with 246 targets hit during the competition. Owen tied for 16th in both the American Skeet and the Sporting Clays, hitting 86 and 83 targets, respectively. He tied for 28th in the American Trap shooting with 77 targets.

The Wildcats return to action Feb. 25 at the Lindenwood Open in St. Charles, Mo.
