Shotgun Sports Places Fifth at William Woods Invitational

The Culver-Stockton College shotgun sports team placed fifth among six schools competing at the William Woods Invitational in Jefferson City, Mo.

The Wildcats totaled 1, 177 total targets hit in the three disciplines. C-SC placed fourth in the skeet with 419 targets hit and fifth in both the trap and the sporting clays with 392 and 366 targets hit, respectively, Missouri Valley won the event with 1,340 total targets destroyed.

Individually, James Stutheit placed 20th overall in the three disciplines combined with 248 out of a possible 300 targets hits. His best showing came in the skeet where he claimed 95 out of the 100 targets to finish fifth among all shooters.

Lucas Wellman placed 31st overall with 237 total targets hit among 300 targets overall. Wellman's best finish was 16th in the trap event with 87 out of 100 targets hit. Will Owen placed 35th overall with 233 targets hit with his best effort coming in skeet with a 20th place finish.

Aden Dumcum finished 36th overall with 233 targets and his best event was the trap where he finished 17th overall with 87 targets hit. Cody Bliven finished 39th overall with 226 targets hit. His best discipline was skeet where he placed 19th with 88 targets hit.

The Wildcats are slated to compete at the Lindenwood Spring Open this weekend, Feb. 23-25, in Bridgeton, Mo.
