Webb Scores 16 as Wildcats with Sixth Consecutive Game

The Culver-Stockton women's basketball team earned its sixth consecutive victory with a 55-41 victory over William Penn University Wednesday night at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats, now 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, led 24-19 at the intermission but outscored the Statesmen 17-7 in the third quarter to build a 41-26 lead. The two teams played nearly even in the final period with William Penn winning the final 10 minutes 15-14.

C-SC placed three players in double figures with Katie Webb scoring a game-high 16 points. McKenzie Lathrom added 13 markers while Avery Oetting came off the bench to net 10 points.

Aaliyah Ortiz added six assists in the game while Whynter Waterhouse-Brennan grabbed a team-high 10 rebound. Lathrom and Ortiz also had three steals each.

The Wildcat will try to extend their wining streak to seven games this Saturday, Dec. 10, with a road contest at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
