Wildcats Stay Hot Offensively with 22-point Victory at Graceland

The Culver-Stockton women's basketball team started Monday's game where it left off offensively Saturday when it snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Wildcats shot 49 percent from the field in Saturday's 79-47 victory over Mount Mercy. On Monday, C-SC shot 50 percent from the field in the opening half en route to a 46-27 halftime lead in an eventual 86-64 victory over Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

The Wildcats made 16 of their 32 field goal attempts in the first half and ended the game shooting 45.5 percent (30-66) overall. C-SC was also outstanding from the foul line in the game, draining 21 of its 25 free throw attempts for 84 percent.

Katie Webb turned in an outstanding shooting game to lead the Wildcats, scoring a game-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. McKenzie Lathrom added 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including three 3-pointers.

Aaliyah Ortiz also continues to play well with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Wildcats forced 17 Yellowjacket turnovers, leading to 17 C-SC points.

The Wildcats, now 13-5 overall and 8-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, are scheduled to host Missouri Valley College this Thursday, Jan. 19, at Charles Field House. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
