The Culver-Stockton College women's basketball team came up short in an 81-74 loss to Ohio Christian University Saturday afternoon at the Maxwell Center in Circleville, Ohio.

The Wildcats, who trailed 38-37 at halftime, outscored the Trailblazers 23-19 in the third quarter to take a 60-57 lead entering the final 10 minutes of play.

However, C-SC went scoreless for the nearly four minutes at the start of the fourth quarter and was outscored 16-5 in the first six minutes of the period as Ohio Christian built a 73-65 advantage.

On the ensuing Trailblazer possession, the hosts missed a three-point attempt; however, the Wildcats were unable to corral the rebound and Ohio Christian's Haley Cox, who finished with a game-high 33 points, buried a 3-pointer as the shot clock was winding down to up the margin to 77-72 with 65 seconds to play.

Delaney Straus cut the lead to 77-74 with 21 seconds left in regulation, but that is as close as the Wildcats would get as the Trailblazers made four of six free throws down in the final seconds to cement the victory.
