
Poor Fourth Quarter Leads to Road Loss for Wildcats
The Culver-Stockton College women's basketball team was outscored 28-9 in the fourth quarter of a 68-49 loss to Benedictine College Saturday afternoon at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium in Atchison, Kan.
The Wildcats led 29-22 at the intermission and the game was tied at 40 heading to the fourth quarter. C-SC's Avery Oetting gave the visitors a 48-46 lead with 7:31 remaining in the game; however, the Wildcats were outscored 22-1 over the next seven minutes, 14 seconds, before Destini Rogers made a free throw with 17 seconds remaining. The 49 points scored by the Wildcats was a season-low.
Oetting led the Wildcat scoring attack with 17 points while also grabbing six rebounds. Katie Webb chipped in 10 points and a team-high seven caroms, while Olivia Hopp dished out a team-best five assists.
C-SC is back in action this Monday, Feb. 10, against Clarke University in a makeup game from Feb. 5. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Charles Field House.
