Bell-Tenner Recognized as Defensive Player of the Week
Culver-Stockton College forward Nevaiah Bell-Tenner has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week presented by WinWon Technologies for her play during the week of Dec. 15-21.
Bell-Tenner, a senior from Racine, Wis. / Racine Lutheran HS), averaged a double-double during the week scoring 15.5 points and grabbing 11.5 rebounds per game in victories over Truett McConnell (Ga.) and Warner (Fla.). In addition, she registered six steals in the two games. In the two games, Bell-Tenner helped the Wildcats limit their two opponents to 39 points per game and 26.4 percent (27-104) shooting from the field, including 25 percent (7-28) from the 3-point stripe.
The Wildcats (8-6) are scheduled to return to play on Saturday, Jan. 3, when they host Graceland University in a Heart of America Athletic Conference game. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. inside Charles Field House.
