Hummel, Saunders Named to All-Tournament Team at Clarke Event

Carlee Hummel and Jasmine Saunders each earned all-tournament team accolades in the Clarke Invitational at Cherry Lanes last weekend in Dubuque, Iowa.

Hummel earned the individual title with a five-game series of 1,103, an average of 220.6 pins per game. After a slow start when she rolled a 197 game in the opener, Hummel followed that up with scores of 223, 226, 233 and 214.

Saunders also was lauded on the all-tournament team after placing fifth overall in the individual competition. Saunders registered 1,014 pins in her five games including three games of 200 or more with a 203, 214 and 244.

Alexie Little just missed out on the all-tournament honors with a sixth-place finish in the event. Little rolled three games of 200 or more with games of 208, 216 and 242. Little averaged 197.8 pins per game.

As a team, the Wildcats placed second overall with a total of 7.682 pins in five team games and 16 baker games. C-SC averaged 947.4 pins in the five team games Saturday, and 184.1 pins in the 16 baker games Sunday. The Wildcats lost to Coe College in match play.

C-SC returns to action this weekend, Jan. 28-29, at the Eagle Invitational in Belton, Mo. The Wildcats are scheduled to compete at the Aaron's Family Fun Center.
