Solid Baker Games Help Wildcats to 16th Place Finish at Midwest Collegiate Championships

The Culver-Stockton College women's bowling team had a solid outing Sunday to finish 16th overall in the Midwest Collegiate Championships at AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee, Wis.

The Wildcats were sitting in 23rd place after the day one team games with a total of 5,138 pins. However, C-SC registered 2,880 pins in 16 baker games, an average of 180 pins per game, on Sunday to jump up seven spots.

The Wildcats finished with 8,018 total pins over the two days, ending 1,054 pins behind the winning team Webber International. C-SC averaged 856.3 pins in the six team games on Saturday, totaling high games of 938 and 904.

Individually, Rachel Moore led the C-SC fivesome with a 40th place finish among the 272 bowlers scored. Moore rolled high games of 223 and 201 among her six games bowled, finishing with an average of 186.3 pins per game.

Jasmine Saunders opened the tournament with a 234 game and went on to place 43rd overall in the tournament. Saunders ended the team game portion of the event with 1,109 total pins, an average of 184.8 per game.

Madi Shontz and Jersey Lessenger finished 91st and 94th overall, respectively, in the event. Shontz totaled 1,002 pins in the six games, rolling a high of 215, to end the day with an average of 167.0, while Lessenger registered a total of 906 pins and had an average of 166. Rilee Allen ended Saturday in 109th place with an average of 152.2, rolling a high game of 167.

The Wildcats are slated to return to play on the weekend of Oct. 21-22 at the Mid-States Championships in Wichita, Kan. The event will take place at the West Acres Bowl
