Wildcats Place 18th at the Mid-States Championships

The Culver-Stockton College women's bowling program competed at the Mid-States Championships, a tier one tournament held at West Acres Bowl in Wichita, Kan., last weekend.

The Wildcats concluded the tournament with 8,223 pins to finish 18th among the 24 teams competing in the event. C-SC averaged 850.7 pins in the six team games on Saturday, highlighted by a high game of 933, for a total of 5,104 pins. On Sunday, C-SC recorded 3,119 pins, an average of 156, in 20 baker games. Mount Mercy won the event with a total of 9,379 pins.

The top finisher for the Wildcats was Rachel Moore, who placed 13th in a field of 213 bowlers. Moore collected 1,135 total ins in her six games rolled, including a high game of 254 in game four. Moore averaged 189.2 pins pe game.

Jersey Lessenger finished 21st overall with a score of 1,104 pins in her six games, averaging 184 pins per game. Lessenger registered two games over 200, rolling a 203 and a 210 game in her series.

Madi Shontz and Jasmine Saunders totaled 1.027 and 1,012 pins to place 41st and 48th overall. Shontz averaged 171.2 pins per game, while Saunders averaged 168.7 pins per game. Shontz had a pair of games totaling 190, and Saunders rolled a high game of 201.

Rilee Allen closed out the individual scoring for the Wildcats with 826 total pins for a finish of 91st overall. Allen averaged 137.7 pins per game with a high game of 157.

The Wildcats are back in action this weekend, Oct. 28-29, at the Five Seasons Classic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The women are slated to compete at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.
