Rachel Moore Named Bowler of the Week for the Second Time

For the second time in three weeks, Culver-Stockton College's Rachel Moore has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Bowler of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Moore, a freshman from Keokuk, Iowa (Keokuk HS), earned her second weekly honor and third all-tournament team accolade after capturing the individual title in the Leatherneck Classic held at Highland Park Bowl in Moline, Ill. She was also was honored on Oct. 31.

In five team games Saturday, Moore started slowly with games of 191 and 152 in her first two matches. However, she finished strong in the final three matches, recording scores of 231, 246, and 264 to finish with 1,084 total pins, which was 42 pins better than second place finisher McKenzie Mattice of the University of St. Francis (Ill.). Moore, who averaged 216.8 pins per game, was named the Shane Keefauver Memorial Most Valuable Player for her efforts.

For the season, Moore has competed in five tournaments and compiled 5,429 pins in 27 games for an average of 201.1 pins per game. She has registered three top five finishes and four top 25 finishes in her five tournaments.

The Wildcats are scheduled to compete this weekend, Nov. 18-19, at the NAIA Invitational in Joliet, Ill. The tournament will take place at Town and Country Lanes.
