
Women's Bowling Jumps Seven Spots to Place 24th Overall in Opening Event
The Culver-Stockton College women's bowling team began its 2024-25 season over the weekend in the Midwest Collegiate Championships at AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 5-6.
The Wildcats finished 24th overall among the 42 teams competing in the tier one event. C-SC collected 7,149 total pins in five team games and 16 baker games during the event. In five team games Saturday, the Wildcats accumulated 4,194 pins, averaging 838.8 pins per game. That total left the Wildcats in 31st place after the first day; however, C-SC averaged 184.68 pins in the baker games Sunday, totaling 2,955 overall, to jump seven spots to the 24th position overall.
Sophomore Rachel Moore led the Wildcats individually with a 50th place finish overall. Moore garnered 943 total pins in five games, averaging 188.6 pins per game. She rolled a team-high game on 218 in her opening game of the season.
Senior Jasmine Saunders placed 87th overall while sophomore Jersey Lessenger ended 89th with 884 and 882 total pins, respectively. Saunders averaged 176.8 pins per game and Lessenger averaged 176.4 pins per game.
Freshmen Katelin Valentine and Andi Woods made their collegiate debuts with Woods finishing 155th overall, totaling 696 pins in five games, or an average of 139.2. Woods bowled in four games and averaged 169.3, including a high game of 211.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Five Seasons's Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The women's portion of the event will take place at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.
