Lessenger, Moore Pave Way for Fifth Place Finish by Women's Bowling
Jersey Lessenger and Rachel Moore each posted top 15 finishes to lead the Culver-Stockton College women's bowing team to a fifth place finish at the 13-team Five Seasons Classic held at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Lessenger finished 10th overall with 938 pins in five games, an average of 187.6 pins per game. Meanwhile, Moore placed 13th overall with 927 pins, which was an average of 185.4 pins per game.
As a team, the Wildcats totaled 7.668 pins in five team games and 20 baker games. C-SC averaged a team score of 843.4 in the team games to record 4,217 pins on Saturday. In the 20 baker games Sunday, the Wildcats garnered 3,451 total pins, an average of 172.6 per game.
In addition to Lessenger and Moore, Jasmine Saunders and Katelin Valentine finished 33rd and 36th, respectively. Saunders averaged 170, collecting 850 total pins, while Valentine averaged 168, registering 840 total pins.
Andi Woods bowled in four of the five team games and averaged 135.8 to finish 78th overall. Rilee Allen competed in one game and rolled an 119.
The Wildcats are back in action this weekend, Oct. 26-27, at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge in Lawrence, Kan. The event is being contested at Royal Crest Lanes.
