Moore Claims Third Career Individual Title, Wildcats place Fifth at Warhawk Open

Culver-Stockton College sophomore Rachel Moore claimed the top spot at the Warhawk Open in Addison, Ill., over the weekend, setting a tournament record in the process.

In five games Saturday, Moore averaged a score of 227.8 to to finish in first place individually and earn all-tournament honors. The 227.8 average is the highest for a five-game set in tournament history. Moore totaled 1,139 pins overall, rolling four games of 200 or more. She had high games of 261 and 245.

The individual title is her third career title and the first this season. The all-tournament nod is the ninth of her career and the second this season.

As a team, the Wildcats got contributions from all five players to finish fifth overall with 7,531 total pins. C-SC finished fifth in the tournament to make bracket play; however, were eliminated in the first round by Governors State 194-160 and 246-190.

The Wildcats averaged 916.6 pins in the five team games on Saturday, totaling 4,583 pins overall. On Sunday, C-SC added 2,948 pins to that total in the 16 baker games, an average of 184.3 pins per game.

In addition to Moore, Jasmine Saunders registered a top 20 finish, placing 17th overall with 955 pins. Saunders averaged 191.0 per game, rolling high games of 224 and 213. 

Jersey Lessenger placed 37th overall with 875 pins while Andi Woods garnered 875 total pins and placed 45th overall. Katelin Valentine completed the Wildcat five some with a 62nd place finish with 784 total pins.

The Wildcats will break for the holidays and return to play Jan. 18-19 at the Columbia Clash at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Mo.
