Women's Bowling Places Second at NAIA West Open

Two weeks removed from its first tournament team victory, the Culver-Stockton women's bowling team put together another strong effort to place second at the NAIA West Open Feb. 1-2 at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan.

The Wildcats recorded 4,336 pinfalls in five team games Saturday, averaging 867.2 pins per game, to sit 228 pins behind Willim Penn University. C-SC was unable to make up any ground the next day in the baker games, registering 4,699 pinfalls or an average of 188 pins per game. William Penn won the event with 9,511 total pins over the two days.

Individually, Rachel Moore, the super sophomore from Keokuk, Iowa, continues to shine with another all-tournament performance, placing second overall with 987 total pins, an average of 197.3 pins per game.

Jasmine Saunders recorded 920 total pins, an average of 184 per game, to place 12th overall among the 106 competitors in the field. Jersey Lessenger finished 21st overall 879 total pins, while Katelin Valentine was 37th overall with 807 pinfalls.

The women's team is slated to compete next weekend at the Cedar Valley Invitational in Waterloo, Iowa, Feb. 8-9. The event is being held at the Cadilac Xtreme Bowling Center.
