Grodjesk, Matrisch Register Top 10 Finishes at Peru Spring Invitational

The Culver-Stockton women's golf team placed fourth out of seven teams in the Peru State Spring Invitational at the Golf Club at Table Creek in Nebraska City, Neb., Saturday.

The Wildcats finished the 36-hole event with a total score of 741 (368-373) to finish 173 strokes over par as a team. St. Mary (Neb.) carded a 97-over par 665 over the two days to claim the team title.

Individually, senior Emily Grodjesk was the top finisher for the Wildcats with a third-place finish. Grodjesk improved three spots after Friday's round of 84 by recording an 80 Saturday to finish at 22-over 164. Kendra Casey of Morningside (Iowa) was medalist with a 14-over 156.

Hannah Matrisch also registered a top 10 finish, ending the 36-hole event in the eighth spot. Matrisch carded scores of 87 and 89, respectively, to end the tournament at 34-over par. Allie Hayden finished 22nd overall with a score of 52-over 194 while Kyndall Crim ended the tournament in 29th place after a two-day score of 65-over 207.

The Wildcats return to action April 15-16 at the Quincy University Spring Invitational at Quincy Country Club in Quincy, Ill.
