Women's Golf Concludes Season at Heart Championships

The Culver-Stockton College women's golf team competed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Monday and Tuesday, April 22-23, at the Preserve at Rathbun Lake in Moravia, Iowa.

The Wildcats finished the event in eighth place among the 10 teams competing with a score of 248-over 1,112. Mount Mercy (Iowa) won the event with a scored of 74-over 938. William Penn was second, recording a score of 88-over 952.

Playing 36 holes Monday, the Wildcats struggled out of the gate in the first round Monday morning, shooting a collective 99-over 387. C-SC shot better in the afternoon round, improving by 16 strokes to finish at 371. On Tuesday, the Wildcats were even better, carding a 354.

Individually, all five players improved each round with Emily Grodjesk carding a final round score of 83 to finish at 46-over par 262, good for 25th place. Grodjesk shot 90 and 89 in the opening two rounds Monday. Hannah Matrisch finished 28th overall recording a score of 55-over 271. Matrisch carded scores of 98-88-85).

Natalie Ames concluded the tournament in 35th place with a 54-hole total of 71-over 287. Ames shot 98 and 97 the first two rounds before finishing with a 92 Tuesday. Kyndall Crim ended 39th overall at 76-over 292 (101-97-94) while Allie Hayden tied for 43rd place with a score of 85-over 301 (108-97-96).
