The Culver-Stockton women's lacrosse team began its home schedule with a 16-2 loss to 10^th-ranked Indiana Tech Monday afternoon at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

The Warriors scored seven times in the opening quarter and never looked back as they improved to 2-1 on the season. Indiana Tech led 10-1 at halftime and 14-2 at the end of three quarters. The Wildcats dropped to 1-2 on the year.

C-SC pressured the Warrior goalie Sydney Oberdorfer early; however, Oberdorfer made seven of her nine saves in the opening quarter. The Warriors took advantage by scoring seven times in the first 15 minutes of the game and never gave up the ball. Indiana Tech held a 16-5 edge on draw controls in the match.

McKayla Nevarez scored a goal, her team-leading seventh, and added an assist to lead the Wildcat offense. Melanie Sanchez tallied the other goal for the home team, which was outshot 34-17 in the match.

The Wildcats return to Poulton Stadium this Wednesday, March 15, to face NCAA Division III Monmouth College. The opening draw is slated for 6 p.m.
