Wildcats Dominate Monmouth College behind Vomund's Five Goals

Sopheea Vomund scored five goals and added two assists as the Culver-Stockton women's lacrosse team posted a 16-3 victory over Monmouth College Wednesday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
The Wildcats recorded its highest shot total of the season with 47 overall shots, including 30 shots on goal. Vomund had a team-high nine shots overall and eight shots on goal.
McKayla Nevarez and Emy Monsalve each registered three goals, and Melanie Sanchez and Raven Kearse garnered two goals for the Wildcats. Sanchez ad Courtni Hopper tallied two assists each.
Jillian Vervynck stopped three of the six shots on goal to register the victory for the Wildcats in goal. Vervynck and the defense allowed just 10 shots overall.
C-SC (2-2) will try to make it two in a row next Wednesday, March 22, when they host the University of St. Mary at Poulton Stadium. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
