Lacrosse Beats Valley behind Grebing's Six Goals

The Culver-Stockton College women's lacrosse team concluded the regular season with a 14-6 victory over Missouri Valley College Saturday afternoon at Ashford-Volney Stadium in Marshall, Mo.

The victory secures the No. 3 seed for the Wildcats in the upcoming Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament, which begins Wednesday, April 17. C-SC is scheduled to play at second-seeded Saint Ambrose University at 3 p.m. in Davenport, Iowa.

In the season finale, the Wildcats outscored the Vikings 8-1 in the second half after leading by just a lone goal of 6-5 in the opening 30 minutes.

Freshman Lauren Grebing notched a career-high six goals on nine total shots to lead the C-SC offensive attack. Four of her six goals came in the second half.

Bella Olson, Karson Jackson and Katie De Craene each tallied two goals, while Anaya Lopez and Jasmine Simpson registered a goal each. Jackson and Aaliyah Ortiz each recorded two assists for the winners.

Grebing was also strong in the draw control, winning 12 of the 16 draws won by the Wildcats in the contest.

C-SC outshot the Vikings 31-24 overall, including 16-6 in the second half. The Wildcats committed 26 turnovers with 14 unforced turnovers. The Wildcats forced 15 of the 25 miscues by the Vikings.
