Quarles Garners NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Honors
Kaelin Quarles hit the triecta of weekly honors this week.
Quarles added NAIA Offensive Player of the Week to her honors Tuesday afternoon. The Culver-Stockton College sophomore has also been recognized by the Heart of America Athleti Conference and the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as Offensive Player of the Week for her performance against Mount Mercy University last week.
Quarles, a midfielder from Henderson, Nev. (Coronado HS), broke her own school record for goals in a game when she collected 12 goals in the Wildcats' 24-7 victory over the Mustangs. She had previous scored 10 goals in a game at Missouri Valley College earlier this season.
In addition, Quarles tied the school record for points in a game with 13 as she added an assist in the contest. Quarles tallied her 12 goals over 20 shots overall. Quarles also recorded seven draw controls, three groundballs and three caused turnovers.
For her career, Quarles became the school's all-time leader in goals with 94. She has 49 goals this season, which breaks the all-time season mark she set last year when she registered 45 goals as a freshman.
The Wildcats are scheduled to travel to Fremont, Neb., this Thursday, March 27, for a match against Midland University. The opening draw is slated for 1 p.m.
