Two Women's Soccer Players Chosen for All-Heart Team

The Culver-Stockton College women's soccer team placed two players on the 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Team, the league announced Friday morning.

Forward Morgan Dierks Machado was named to the second team, while midfielder Maggie Tuxhorn was lauded on the third team for her play this season.

Machado, a graduate student from Kansas City, Kan. (Sumner HS / Missouri Valley College), garnered a team-high 13 points for the Wildcats this season, tying for the team lead with four goals and adding a team-best five assists. Machado, who was 2-for-3 on penalty kicks, scored two game-winning goals in her only season with the Wildcats.

Tuxhorn, a sophomore from Rochester, Ill. (Rochester HS), joined Machado at the top of the scoring ledger with four goals and two assists for 10 points this season. She netted a team-best three game-winning goals, which was tied for fourth best among all players in the conference.    

The Wildcats completed the 2023 season with a 9-5-4 overall record and a 3-4-4 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
