Women's Track and Field Place Second at Hilltop Invitational
The Culver-Stockton indoor track and field team finished second among five collegiate teams competing at the Hilltop Invitational at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Saturday.
The Wildcats claimed five event titles, placed second in two events and finished third in four events.
Shannon O'Neil claimed two events during the day. O'Neil won the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 4 1/4 inches, and the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.55 seconds.
Zoi Smith captured the pole vault with a jump of 9 feet 1/4 inches while Emma Smith claimed the 60-meter dash title with a time of 8.12 seconds.
Kinlie Judd reached the podium in to events, placing second in the pole vault with a mark of 8 feet, 8 1/4 inches, and a third place finish in the long jump with a leap of 13 feet, 5 1/2 inches.
Petra Johnson placed second in the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, 1 3/4 inches. Faith Younce made the podium in the 5000-meter run with a third place finish in a time of 21:30.15.
In the relays, the Wildcats finished third in both the 4x200 meter and the sprint medley relays. In the 4x200, the Wildcats finished in a time of 1:58.70 while recording a time of 5:41.32 in the medley relay.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Fighting Bees Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27, at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Friday's session begins at 3:30 p.m. with the Saturday events starting at 10 a.m.
