Women's Track places 10th at Heart Indoor Championships

Shannon O'Neil was named all-conference in two events to lead the Culver-Stockton women's track and field team at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville Friday and Sunday.

The Wildcats registered 20.5 team points to finish 10th among the 12 teams competing in the event. Benedictine won the overall team title with 182.5 points.

O'Neil finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in a time in 9.33 seconds. She added a sixth place finish in the pentathlon, recording 2,936 points in the five events. It was o'Neil's first two all-conference honors of her career.

Allison Morris and Faith Younce earned all-league honors in the 300-meter race walk finishing second and third, respectively. Morris finished in a time of 16:40.12, who Younce completed the distance in a time of 17:16.18. Both walkers have qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championships in two weeks.

The final all-league performer for the Wildcats was Zoi Smith in the pole vault. Smith tied for eighth overall in the vault with a mark of 8 feet, 11 inches.
