
Straus Picks Up Another Heart Weekly Honor
Culver-Stockton College junior Delaney Straus (Philadelphia, Mo. / Marion County HS) has earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week presented by WinWon for her performance at the Cornell Invitational on Saturday, April 5. This is the second honor this spring for Straus, who was named the Field Athlete of the Week on March 17.
Straus won the 400-meter hurdles with the second fastest time in program history, just .12 seconds off the school record. Straus, who was running the event for just the second time in her career, finished in a time of 1:05.12, winning by 3.81 seconds. That time is ranked 19th in the NAIA. In addition, Straus also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and placed third overall with a time of 16.31 seconds.
The Wildcats are scheduled to perform in the Mustang Distance Carnival this Friday and Saturday at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The first events are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
