Netters Still Searching for Elusive First Heart Victory

The Culver-Stockton women's volleyball team is still searching for its first Heart of America Athletic Conference victory after a three-set loss at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Friday night.

The Wildcats began a two-match weekend road trip with a 25-12, 26-19, 25-17 loss to the Statesmen at the Penn Activity Center. The Statesmen swept the season series from the Wildcats.

C-SC struggled with the attack Friday night, committing more attack errors (25) than kills in the match (22). William Penn contributed two that struggle with 10 team blocks.

Zoe Irvin and Emma Daleen recored six kills each to lead the Wildcat offense. Lauren Bloom totaled 12 set assists while Sam Wright had six assists.

No Wildcat defender managed to reach double figures in digs with libero Kyla Ellis gathering nine digs to lead the team. Ashleigh Brawley garnered two solo blocks.

The Wildcats, now 3-14 overall and 0-7 in the Heart, will try to gain that elusive victory Saturday, Sept. 30, at Peru State College in Peru, Neb. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
