Wildcats Can't Find Enough Offense in Loss to Missouri Valley

An undermanned Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team dropped a Heart of America Athletic Conference match to Missouri Valley College at Charles Field House Saturday afternoon in Canton, Mo.

The Wildcats, playing without leading hitter Zoe Irvin after she was injured Friday night in a match against Central Methodist, succumbed to the Vikings 25-16, 25-12, 25-19 to fall to 3-18 overall and 0-11 in the conference.

Freshman Emma Daleen and junior Ashleigh Brawley did their best to make up for Irvin's production, but it wasn't enough against the Vikings who have won four straight matches and six of their last seven contests.

Daleen finished with a team-high eight kills on 23 attempts with just four errors for a .174 attack percentage. Brawley totaled seven kills on 16 attempts and one error for a .375 attack percentage. Brawley also registered three service aces and had four blocks on defense.

The Wildcats continue their seven-match homestand Wednesday night, Oct. 11, with a non-conference tilt against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at Charles Field House. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
