Women's Volleyball Aces Test with UHSP

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team registered a season-high 18 service aces in snapping a 10-match losing streak with a 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13 victory over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Wednesday night at Charles Field House.

Abi Smallwood led the service barrage with eight service aces in the match. Dilan Perry, Ashleigh Brawley and Lauren Bloom all collected three service aces in the match.

Freshman Emma Daleen led the hitting attack with a career-best 14 kills on 33 attempts. Daleen committed four attack errors for a .303 hitting percentage in the match. Fellow freshman Norah Boggs tallied nine terminations, while Brawley totaled eight kills and freshman Faith Hopgood had seven kills.

Bloom and Sam Wright combined for 39 of the 41 set assists for the Wildcats with Wright setting the pace with 20 assists. 

Defensively, libero Kyla Ellis led the back row with 13 digs in the match. Perry was also in doubt figures with 10 digs. Brawley led the charge at the net with three blocks, including one solo stuff.

The Wildcats (4-18) are right back on the Charles Field House court Thursday night, Oct. 12, against nationally-ranked Park University. First serve for the Heart of America Athletic Conference match is slated for 6 p.m.
