Park's Firepower Too Much for Women's Volleyball in Heart Defeat

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team faced too much firepower from nationally-ranked Park University in a 25-13, 25-23, 25-16 loss Thursday night at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats continued to serve well, recording six service aces in the match after registering a season-high 18 aces against Health Sciences and Pharmacy Wednesday night.

However, C-SC struggled at the net against the taller and more aggressive Pirates, who are ranked eighth in the latest NAIA national poll. The Wildcats tabulated 21 attack errors against just 20 kills for an attack percentage of negative .010.

Ashleigh Brawley and Emma Daleen led the offensive attack with five kills each. Brawley and Dilan Perry garnered two service aces each, while Lauren Bloom had 12 set assists.

Defensively, Brawley and Faith Hopgood tallied three block assists each. The Wildcats totaled six team blocks on the match. Perry led the back row with 11 digs.

The Wildcats (4-19 overall and 0-12 in the Heart) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 14, against Benedictine College at Charles Field House. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
