Two Wildcats Named to Heart Volleyball All-Conference Team

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team placed two players on the 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Libero Kyla Ellis and middle hitter Ashleigh Brawley were named to the team as honorable mention selections.

Ellis, a junior from O'Fallon, Ill. (O'Fallon HS), was the only Wildcat to appear in all 101 sets (29 matches) played by the Wildcats this season. Ellis recorded a team-best 427 digs overall, which was 10th-best in the Heart. Her 4.23 digs per set was ranked eighth overall in the conference. Ellis was second in the Heart with 690 serve receptions. She committed 42 receptions errors for a service reception rate of 94 percent.

Brawley, a junior from Princeville, Ill. (Princeville HS), appeared in 97 of the 101 sets this season (28 matches). Brawley was third on the team with 183 kills with a 17 percent success rate. Brawley also led the team with 65 total blocks, including 16 solo blocks, and service aces with 30.

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is a 14-member league with schools located in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. Culver-Stockton has been a member of the Heart since 1981.
