Women's Volleyball Completes Perfect Week with Two Victories Saturday

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team completed a perfect 5-0 week with two more victories Saturday afternoon in the Eutectics Classic at Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.

The Wildcats began the day with a 25-15, 18-25, 25-15, 25-16 victory over Cottey (Mo.) in the opening match. C-SC ended the day by sweeping Missouri Baptist, which was ranked 11th in the NAIA Preseason Poll, 25-16, 26-24, 25-23.

C-SC, which placed three players in double figures in kills in each of the two victories Friday night, had two players reach double-figures against Cottey. Addie Force led the way with 12 terminations while Zoe Irvin contributed 11 kills.

Ashleigh Brawley and Victoria Pollard narrowly missed reaching double figures, finishing with. nine kills each. Brawley totaled four service aces while Pollard had three service aces. Lauren Bloom and Lael Temple garnered 30 and 21 set assists, respectively.

Defensively, Kyla Ellis recorded a match-high 33 digs while Bloom also reached double digits with 10 digs. Brawley was big at the net with four blocks.

In the sweep over Missouri Baptist. No Wildcat reached double figures in kills with Irvin and Pollard registering nine kills each to lead the way. Force added seven terminations and Abby Godwin totaled six terminations.

Ellis garnered 18 digs to lead the back row, while Brawley tallied eight block assists at the net to go along with three kills and two service aces.

The Wildcats, now 7-4 overall, are scheduled to host Mount Mercy University this Tuesday, Sept, 17, in a Heart of America Athletic Conference match. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
