
Four Netters Named to All-Heart Women's Volleyball Team
The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team placed four players on the 2024 Heart of America Athletic Conference Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Libero Kyla Ellis and middle hitter Ashleigh Brawley were both named to the third team, while outside hitters Zoe Irvin and Victoria Pollard were each recognized as honorable mention selections.
Ellis, a senior from O'Fallon, Ill. (O'Fallon HS), who was an honorable mention selection, as a junior, led the Wildcats and was fourth in the conference with 601 digs this season. She averaged 5.14 digs per set. In addition, Ellis registered 832 receptions of serve, which was third in the league and fourth in the NAIA. She committed 45 reception errors and had a 94.5 percent receiving percentage.
In her four-year career, Ellis recorded 1,517 digs, placing her 10th on the school's all-time list. She averaged 3.68 digs per set, which is also 10th on the school's all-time career list. Ellis received 2,225 career serves and committed 133 errors for a serve reception percentage of 94 percent.
Brawley, a senior from Princeville, Ill. (Princeville HS), was an honorable mention selection in 2023. She garnered a team-high 81 total blocks during the season, ranking fifth in the league, and had 217 total kills, which was third on the team. In addition, Brawley was third on the team with 33 service aces.
In her four-year career, Brawley totaled 548 kills and 249 blocks, including 45 solo blocks. Her kill percentage was 20.6 percent., and she garnered 64 career service aces.
Irvin, a junior from Chillicothe, Ill. (Chillicothe IVC HS), led the Wildcats with 285 kills, averaging 2.46 kills per set. She also had a team-best 862 attack attempts with 145 errors for an attack percentage of 16.2.
Pollard, a sophomore from Dardenne Prairie, Mo. (St. Dominic HS / McKendree University), appeared in 29 of the 30 matches and 113 sets this season. She totaled 215 kills, an average of 1.90 kill per set, and had 269 digs, an average of 2.38 per set. In addition, Pollard recorded 41 service aces, which was eighth highest in the league.
The Wildcats concluded the 2024 season under first-year Head Coach Audrye Alejandro-Rivera with a 15-15 overall record and a 7-11 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference
